Instant Kill 007:10-B Artificer Legacy Rune Transference

An old man beside Mo Tian asked, “Brother, what amazing performance?”

Another old man asked, “Are you talking about the Artificer Mysterious Virtual Path? Was is this child’s first time going in?”

Mo Tian answered, “Yes, it was his first time going in. I just heard a report from an Inner Gate Disciple so I called them here to confirm the report. Hehehe!”

“So what if it’s his first time going in the Mysterious Virtual Path? Was he able to finish the first lap?” the old man replied.

All the old people started laughing.

“He might have done more than that,” someone said. “I’ve seen kids finish up to middle of the second circle for the first time.”

The old men quieted down when they heard that.

The corner of Ku Mu’s mouth started to reveal a taunting smile. He remained silent as no one was paying attention to him.

Mo Ni-er looked at Guo Shier oddly, and then she smiled as she continued to hold his hand. They remained silent and continued to listen to Mo Tian.

“I heard this child did something unbelievable. He reached the third circle in his first try,” Mo Tian said. “Hehehe! Anyway, how is the boy?”

“What!?!” one of the old men blurted out. “That’s impossible! That would mean that he’s already a Grandmaster Artificer!”

“Shier is ten years old this year,” Mo Ni-er said with a smile. “You are correct, Shier did reach the third circle. I saw it with my own eyes. Mu-tou—I mean Ku Mu—was there too. Hehehe! Well, our precious Shier actually reached the end of the third circle—in fact, he almost entered the fourth circle.”

The five old men were dumbfounded. They started to inspect Guo Shier thoroughly. Mo Ni-er couldn’t be lying. Still, they couldn’t quite believe that the little guy had the strength of a Grandmaster Artificer. Amazing.

Mo Tian had a big smile on his face.

Mo Ni-er is his daughter and Ku Mu is his son-in-law. Although the two are actually separated, Ku Mu continues to rely on the Mo Clan especially since he offends a lot of people with his personality. If Ku Mu is counted as a member of the Mo Clan, it would be safe to say that Guo Shier, his apprentice, is also part of the Mo Clan.

This thought made Mo Tian indescribably happy.

Suddenly, Ku Mu sternly said, “Shier just came from the Mysterious Virtual Path. This time is very important for him as he needs to consolidate the Runes that he has acquired. It is best that we continue later if there nothing important to discuss.”

“Ah! Right! Right!” Mo Tian agreed. “You guys can rest here.”

Ku Mu interjected, “We do not want to disturb the headmaster. I’ll be going home with my apprentice.”

Mo Tian didn’t think about it too much, “That is fine. I have no issue with that. Also, Ni-er, you can go with them.”

Mo Ni-er nodded, “Hey, dad,” she said. “Shier wants to access the Marked Warrior Mysterious Virtual Path. However, he doesn’t have slot to enter. He also has an Inner Gate Disciple assistant. Can you give him a slot as well?”

As the headmaster, Mo Tian holds some power. He said, “The little guys want to train as a Marked Warrior? Not bad—he’s following his master’s footsteps. Alright, I’ll arrange two slots for you.”

Mo Tian didn’t let the other old men interject his decision. He immediately sent Shier’s group away.

The old men were so angry that they were left gawking at the situation. But what could they do? The headmaster Mo Tian is Mo Ni-er’s daddy.

After watching the three leave, one of the old men sighed and said to Mo Tian, “Brother why did you hurriedly send them away?”

“That little guy needs to consolidate what he just earned in the Mysterious Virtual Path,” said Mo Tian. “Also, I had to agree to give them a spot. Otherwise, Mo Ni-er would throw a tantrum.”

The old men were not satisfied with Mo Tian’s actions. These old men also held some power in the Sect, but Mo Tian choose to ignore their contempt. He was doing this for the benefit of the Mo Clan.

The three returned to Ku Mu’s home. Mo Ni-er decided to take over the management of Ku Mu’s estate and has brought a lot of people with her. She was not willing to let Guo Shier live in this simple manor. With this new manpower Mo Ni-er immediately started to renovate the Manor.

Guo Shier followed Ku Mu in his underground Runic Hall. Guo Shier searched for a wide space and laid a couple of beast skins. He sat down and started to consolidate the Runes that he has acquired.

When Guo Shier started to meditate, he noticed the Runes floating around his slowly rotating Innate Rune Orb. Little by little, the Innate Rune Orb absorbed the Runes surrounding it. Whatever was absorbed instantly became a part of his knowledge. This delighted him.

The absorbed Runes not only started to reinforce his Innate Rune Orb—they also enriched his skeleton, limbs, and organs. The Runes brought Guo Shier endless benefits.

A lot of basic and advanced knowledge were absorbed into his soul. He would only have to practice them a couple of times; this was all it took to master them.

This Legacy Rune Transference method was really amazing.

This is why this world is stronger than a low-level Rune world.

Guo Shier meditated for eight hours a day so he can digest and absorb all kinds of knowledge. The rest of the time he spent eating, sleeping, and practicing hand seals. He would rarely go out of the Runic Hall.

If Mo Ni-er wasn’t there to forcibly get Guo Shier out of the cave to eat, he and his master would stay underground indefinitely.

Sometimes, Guo Shier felt like a little mouse (and his master was an old mouse) living in a cave.

During those rare times that Guo Shier would eat, he would start chatting with Ku Mu and consult him about his lessons.

“Master, if I continue to use the Artificer Mysterious Virtual Path, will I receive the complete set of Runes from the Legacy Rune Transference?”

He had to ask this. It had been bothering him for a long time.

Ku Mu answered, “The Legacy Rune Transference is just a tool. It is not all powerful. Everyone who enters the Mysterious Virtual Path may get a different set of Legacy Rune Transference.”

“The ability of each person differs,” the Master continued. “Some people absorb more, some less. The Legacy Rune Transference adjusts based on the level of understanding of the person, so two different people would level up differently even if they go in and last for the same duration of time in the Artificer Mysterious Virtual Path.”

When Guo Shier was still with his Master Luo Jie, he thought that the way they studied being an Artificer was the only way to learn. Without any special means to study, it took a long time and a lot of energy to learn. No wonder they could only reach the Grandmaster level.

Guo Shier assumed that if they also had the Legacy Rune Transference tool like the Mysterious Virtual Path back in his previous world, his Master Luo Jie would have already reached the Saint level a long time ago.

Ku Mu continued. “Some people would absorb most of the Rune in the Mysterious Virtual Path. While some—even after going after seven to eight times—are still clueless eggs. So the Mysterious Virtual Path is not a panacea.”

“Master, did we receive a spot for the Marked Warrior Mysterious Virtual Path?” Guo Shier asked.

“How should I know?” Ku Mu answered, rather annoyed. “I was with you the whole time. Go ask Master’s Wife.”

(Note: It really is weird to use Master’s Wife. In my old notes, I just used mother. Tell me your thoughts about this.)

Guo Shier said, “Okay, I’m going to ask Master’s Wife about this.”

Ku Mu shooed Guo Shier away as it was too troublesome for him to think about these things. He would rather train or study rather than talk to people.

Guo Shier went out of the Runic Hall after his study session and looked for Mo Ni-er.

He didn’t really care who, as long as someone was in charge of the household. It just so happened that Mo Ni-er was focused on other things that were not related to his Master’s lessons.

The Manor was now fully renovated. Mo Ni-er’s people were still around and finishing up the place. They have started calling Guo Shier, ‘young master.’

When Mo Ni-er saw Guo Shier she smiled and said, “My dear baby, what brought you up here today?”

Guo Shier was still not used to being called ‘baby’ by Mo Ni-er. But he just accepted it and subconsciously acted like a child.

“Master’s Wife, I just came out to get some fresh air,” he replied.

Mo Ni-er proceeded to cuddle Guo Shier and pinch his adorable face. Then, she carried him and said, “My precious, I’ve prepared some gifts for you. I’m sure you’ll like them. Hehehe!”

She took out a foot-long wooden box and said, “Here, come take a look.”

Guo Shier opened the box and was surprised to see 3 Glyphs inside.

“Whoa! A flying rune, a golden armor rune, and a spirit storage rune. Hahaha! I like them, Master’s Wife.” Guo Shier exclaimed.

After going through the Mysterious Virtual Path, he was able to recognize the three runes at a glance.

These three runes were Advanced True Treasure level runes, stronger than the Ancient level runes. Especially that Flying Rune—he had been wanting one for a long time. He was not expecting to get one so soon.

He stretched out his hand and the three runes instantly became ethereal. They were absorbed through his mouth and emerged within the Innate Rune Orb.

When he inspected the Storage Rune, he discovered the size to be four cubic meters. Guo Shier can’t help to exclaim, “Wow! This is nice!”

Mo Ni-er was delighted to hear Guo Shier’s reaction, “I knew you were going to like it! The Flying Rune and Storage Rune are just simple runes. Almost everybody has them. The rare item is the Gold Armor Rune. Treat as a gift from your Master. I snatched it from his inventory. Hehehe!”

Mo Ni-er put Guo Shier down and continued, “My dear baby, I’ve acquired the slots for the Marked Warrior Mysterious Virtual Path. When do you plan to enter?”

“You got it?!?” Guo Shier said excitedly. “Great! I will use it now! Hehehe!”

Guo Shier instructed a boy to look for Ying Mo.

“You’re going to use it now? Aren’t you being hasty? I think you should prepare a little. The Marked Warrior Mysterious Virtual Path is not easy,” said Mo Ni-er.

Ying Mo walked into the room as Guo Shier and Mo Ni-er were still talking.

Guo Shier smiled and said, “Uncle Ying Mo, Master’s Wife got two slots for us to use for the Marked Warrior Mysterious Virtual Path. Let’s both prepare for it.”

Ying Mo was overjoyed to hear this. He also heard the benefits of going through the Marked Warrior Mysterious Virtual Path here. He was wondering if he could access this rare Legacy Rune Transference.

Three days later, Mo Ni-er called Ku Mu to come out from the underground Runic Hall. With Guo Shier and Ying Mo, they made their way to the Marked Warrior Mysterious Virtual Path.

Gup Shier was flying freely. Although the Flying Rune can only enable him to fly about 100 meters above ground, he was very satisfied.

Mo Ni-er kept watch of Guo Shier and constantly reminded him to be careful. Ying Mo, on the other hand, was flying with Ku Mu.

After a few hours, the four of them arrived at the Marked Warrior Mysterious Virtual Path.

Compared to the Artificer Mysterious Virtual Path, the Marked Warrior Mysterious Virtual Path was enormous. It has the same spiral path containing 6 laps, but the path was much wider and could handle a bigger amount of foot traffic.

The four of them walked to the entrance consisting of a giant platform.

Guo Shier was stunned when he looked at the crowd. He muttered, “How is this possible?”

    1. hahaha! you know what you’re right. using something else to represent this would lessen the importance of Mo Ni-er. I remember deathblade sharing something about his experience in china – about a group of uncles that started to argue with each other, on who should be the Older Brother. Status/Ranks are highly important for orientals.
